SAGA av Wakka Wakka(US) og Figurteatret i Nordland spilles i Tromsø, Harstad, Narvik, Bodø, Mo iRana, Sigerfjord, Andøya, Bardufoss, Finnsnes og Stamsund. 

SAGA har etter premieren spilt 5 uker i New York, mottatt flere nominasjoner, en Drama Desk Award og blitt hyllet av pressen. Se forestillingen en siste gang Nord-Norge før SAGA på nyåret reiser på turne med Riksteatret sør i landet.

Handlingen i  Saga  er lagt til Island etter at en håndfull finansakrobater har klart å kjøre hele landets økonomi i grøfta. Hos gjeldsofferet Gunnar vekkes urnordiske tanker om blodhevn til live etter at banken har signalisert at de tar huset hans.

Dette er ingen historie som er unik for Island. Og temaet i forestillingen blir dermed den vestlige verdens forestående økonomiske ruin, og den vestlige verdens overforbruk. Dette er et skrekkscenario som rammer folk i mange vestlige land nå. Ikke minst i Hellas, Portugal og Spania, men også i USA. Og derfor må denne forestillinga sees i kjølvannet av den finanskrisa som nå slår inn i den vestlige verden. Ved hjelp av humor knyttet til søte og i utgangspunktet morsomme muppetstyle figurer, tar Wak ka Wakka for seg dette svært alvorlige temaet. Figurene får derfor en helt annen karakter, etter hvert som alvoret blir tydeligere.

Gruppen  Wakka Wakka  er kjent for sitt sviende satiriske og underholdende Muppet-teater har vunnet flere internasjonale priser for sitt arbeid.

A true story from Iceland about banking crises and greed. When the crisis is at its worst wake Shalom heroes to life. SAGA is politically and socially critical puppet show for adults, performed the customary black humor and virtuosity view of the award-winning puppet theater company from New York. Gunnar Oddmundsons life is in ruins. He dreamed of success and had big plans for the future, but then collapsed the Icelandic economy and set a world record in the national bank bankruptcy. Now he dreams only of justice. When the family leaves him and the bank takes the house and car, the heroes of the old, Icelandic sagas wakes to life. Blood Vengeance reigns! The battle against "the system" has begun…

This story is not unique to Iceland. The theme of the show is the Western world's impending financial ruin, and the Western world's consumption. This is a horror scenario that affects people in many Western countries now. Particularly in Greece, Portugal and Spain, but also in the United States. And therefore this performance seen in the wake of the financial crisis is now turning towards the West. Using humor associated with sweet and basically funny muppet style characters, Wakka Wakka approach to this very serious issue. The figures therefore gets a very different character, as the seriousness becomes clearer.

The play is performed in English with a charming Icelandic accent, and is best suited for teenagers and adults.

SAGA since its premiere played 5 weeks in New York, received several nominations and one Drama Desk Award and been praised by the reviewers:
